Before entering private practice, Tess was an ERISA trial attorney for the Department of Labor (DOL).
Tess provides advice and handles litigation under ERISA for a diverse group of clients, including financial institutions, insurance companies, investment advisers, plan fiduciaries and service providers. In this highly concentrated field, her experience with the DOL provides her with a unique understanding of the legal landscape.
Tess has an extensive track record representing individual fiduciaries and institutions in DOL investigations. She is well-versed in handling the complicated regulatory environment of multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs). She also counsels employers and health insurance issuers on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
