Mitchell B. Weiss has over 20 years of international tax experience, during which time he has advised on a wide array of cross-border matters, including the tax-efficient structuring of M & A, internal restructurings, and leveraged acquisition financings.
Mitch is a licensed attorney and a CPA in Illinois. He is a member of IFA's Midwest Steering Committee, a frequent speaker at tax conferences, and has published articles on various cross-border topics. Mitch is an Advisory Board Member of the International Tax Journal and, together with Philip Postlewaite, the author of INTERNATIONAL TAXATION: CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL (10th Edition CCH / Wolters Kluwer). As an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, Mitch teaches an advanced course on the international taxation of partnerships. Together with Philip Postlewaite and Robert Wooton, Mitch is also the author of INTRODUCTORY AND ADVANCED PARTNERSHIP TAXATION: MATERIALS, PROBLEMS, AND ANSWERS, volumes 1 and 2 (WG&L / Thomson Reuters 2018 Edition).
Prior to joining Deloitte in 2010, Mitch worked in the international tax groups of Arthur Andersen, Sidley & Austin, and Hogan Lovells. Mitch received his B.S. and Masters in Tax, cum laude, from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
