Jochen Bühling started his career in the law firm of Krieger Mes & Graf v. der Groeben in Düsseldorf/Germany where he has been a partner since 1999.
His professional activities focus on patent and trademark litigation and advising clients out of court in all issues of intellectual property rights, in particular with regard to the infringement of IPR, strategies for protection or licensing negotiations. Jochen Bühling has also acted in Alternative Dispute Resolutions as arbitrator and mediator. He represents international and national clients ranging from multinational companies to SMEs and individual inventors.
On an international level Jochen Bühling is active in AIPPI where he served from 2001 to 2010 on the Bureau and was Reporter General from 2006 to 2010. In January 2014 he was elected as President of the German Group of AIPPI. He is also a member of GRUR, AIPLA, EPLAW and of the German-American Lawyers Association.
Jochen Bühling lectures intellectual property law at the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität Münster. He regularly publishes on issues of intellectual property law and is author of the German chapter in Global Patent Litigation. He is also the editor and a co-author of “Patent Protection for Second Medical Uses” (September 2016).
