Volume 4 of the Congress Series published by the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the world’s leading organization representing practitioners and academics in the field, comprises the proceedings of ICCA’s 9th International Arbitration Congress held in Tokyo in 1988. The first five sections of the book provide overviews of commercial dispute settlement in the Far East, Latin America, the CMEA countries, civil law countries and common law countries, as well as commentary on overcoming regional differences. The final section of the volume focuses on arbitration in combined transport, a topic about which relatively little has been written.
