The Department of the Treasury has reopened the comment period for a notice of availability and request for comments on an application by the Board of Trustees of the American Federation of Musicians & Employers Pension Fund to reduce benefits under the plan pursuant to the Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA). The original notice issued January (see Pension Plan Guide Newsletter Report No. 2196, February 4, 2020) announced that the application was available on the Treasury Department’s website and sought comments on the application from interested parties, including contributing employers, employee organizations, and participants and beneficiaries of the American Federation of Musicians & Employers Pension Fund. The deadline for comments was March 2, 2020.
The comment period for written comments has been reopened and extended to April 20, 2020. The comments may be submitted by the following methods: electronically using the Federal eRulemaking Portal: http://www.regulations.gov; and by mail to the Department of the Treasury, MPRA Office, 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue NW., Room 1224, Washington, DC 20220, Attn: Danielle Norris. Electronic submissions through www.regulations.gov are encouraged.
