IRS changes mailing address for employee plan submissions

The IRS has announced that, effective immediately, the mailing address for employee plan (EP) submissions for determination letters, letter rulings, and IRA opinion letters has changed to: Internal Revenue Service, 7940 Kentucky Drive, MS 31A, Florence, KY 41042. This new address should be used for all deliveries, including U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS. The address change applies to: Form 5300, Form 5306, Form 5306-A, Form 5307, Form 5308, Form 5310, Form 5310-A, Form 5316, letter rulings (under Rev. Procs. 87-50, 90-49, 2003-16, 2010-52, 2017-55, 2017-57, and 2019-4), and nonbank trustee approval letters under section 3.07 of Rev. Proc. 2019-4. For any recently sent applications or correspondence, there should be no need to resubmit. The mail will be forwarded to the new address.

Note, however, that the address for pre-approved plan submissions has not changed, according to the IRS.
