Vermont Governor Phil Scott on February 11 vetoed S.23, a bill that would have mandated an increase to Vermont’s minimum wage. This mandate would have been on top of increases that already occur annually under current Vermont law.
The bill proposed gradual increases in the minimum wage to reach $15 by 2024. Currently the minimum wage is set at $10.96 per hour and provides for annual increases based increases in the cost of living.
