The Vermont Department of Taxes (department) issued guidance regarding 2019 specifications for e-filing 1099 information using myVTax, the division's online filing site. The taxpayers must file their return electronically if the combined number of wage and tax statement (Form W-2) and information returns (Form(s) 1099) exceeds 25. Payroll filing services and tax preparers submitting informational returns for multiple employers are required to file electronically. Also, the taxpayers who are required to submit 1099 information returns electronically, are advised to refer to IRS Publication 1220, Specifications for Electronic Filing of Forms.
