Senate updates four U.S. tax treaties after near decade-long delay

The Senate has approved bipartisan updates to four U.S. tax treaties after a near decade-long delay. The much-anticipated approval of the tax treaties and supplemental protocols is seen on Capitol Hill as a "win" for U.S. businesses here and abroad.

Tax treaties clear senate with bipartisan support. The Senate on July 17 overwhelmingly ratified protocols amending U.S. tax treaties with Japan, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. Additionally, the Senate approved updates to the U.S. tax treaty with Spain on July 16.
