Rhode Island Governor Gina M. Raimondo signed legislation on March 10 that increases the state minimum wage by $1 to $11.50 on October 1, 2020.
The legislation (S. 2147A/H. 7157A), was sponsored by Sen. Erin Lynch Prata and Rep. David A. Bennett.
Rhode Island’s minimum wage has been $10.50 since January 1, 2019. The minimum wage in neighboring states is $12.75 in Massachusetts and $11 in Connecticut.
