Oregon issues 2020 withholding formulas; transit rates

Payroll and Entitlements Editorial Staff

Oregon has issued the 2020 computer formula withholding tables for wages paid on and after January 1, 2020. All of the tables will be reproduced in the Payroll Management Guide at ¶8048 and ¶¶8049 in a future release. The supplemental wage rate will be 8%. The publication is available at https://www.oregon.gov/DOR/programs/businesses/Pages/payroll-updates.aspxs. Employers may not modify the published tables or formulas except to update the exemption credit allowance, federal subtraction, and standard deduction. For 2020: the credit allowance amount is $210; the maximum federal tax subtraction is $6,950 for joint filers; the standard deduction is $2,315 for those who are single or separated, $4,630 for marrieds. The transit rates are: TriMet—0.007737 and Lane—0.0075. (Oregon Withholding Tax Formulas, Effective January 1, 2020, 150-206-436 (Rev. 12-19).)
