Idaho amends its UI law regarding benefit charging, corporate officers

By Payroll and Entitlements Editorial Staff

Idaho has amended its Employment Security Law as follows:

Benefit charging. No charge will be made to the account of a covered employer with respect to benefits paid to a claimant who terminated his or her services voluntarily with good cause but for reasons not attributable to that covered employer.

Corporate officers. To make an election, a corporation with qualifying corporate officers must register with the Department each qualifying corporate officer it elects to exempt from coverage. The registration must be in a format prescribed by the Department and be signed and dated by the corporate officer being exempted from coverage. Registration forms received and approved by the Department by March 31 of the first year of the election will be effective January 1 of that year and will remain in effect for at least two consecutive calendar years.
