The minimum wage in Florida will increase by 10 cents from $8.46 per hour to $8.56 per hour effective January 1, 2020, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research.
The minimum wage for employees who receive tips will also increase. Tipped employees must be paid a direct hourly wage of at least $5.54 per hour effective January 1, 2020, in addition to tips. The direct hourly minimum wage plus tips must equal at least the state minimum wage for nontipped employees.
