By Brad Rosen, J.D.

Ken Crutchfield, a thought leader and visionary in the Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory division, shares his keen insights and observations on the recently released Future Ready Lawyer report.

Ken Crutchfield, the leader of the Legal Markets Group at Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. sat down with Wolters Kluwer writer Brad Rosen to engage in a lively Q&A about the recently released 2020 Wolters Kluwer Future Ready Lawyer: Performance Drivers survey. Crutchfield shared his insights and observations about the report’s key findings which underscore the increased importance of technology for practitioners across the legal landscape.

Ken Crutchfield earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University, and has been a longtime proponent of using technology to help solve workflow problems for lawyers. Ken is also a regular columnist for the well-known Above the Law website where he writes about technology’s increasing role in the innovation of the legal profession.

The 2020 Future Ready Lawyer survey was conducted by a global independent research firm on behalf of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory. The report examines trends affecting the future of law as the industry undergoes a significant transformation, and whether legal organizations are well prepared to drive higher performance. While the survey was conducted before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, Ken, along with a number of other industry leaders, believes that the pandemic will only "super-charge" or accelerate the trends noted in the report, and which are already impacting the legal sector.
