The Small Business Administration is proposing to increase the receipts-based small business size definitions, also known as the size standards, for five North American Industry Classification System sectors. The proposed rule would amend the table at SBA 121.201 to increase size standards for 70 industries, including 14 industries in NAICS Sector 61 (Education Services), 18 industries in Sector 62 (Health Care and Social Assistance), 11 industries in Sector 71 (Arts, Entertainment and Recreation), 4 industries in Sector 72 (Accommodation and Food Services), and 23 industries in Sector 81 (Other Services). SBA seeks comments on the proposed changes and on the data sources it evaluated to develop the proposed standards. The proposed revisions rely on SBA’s recently revised Size Standards Methodology, which can be found at http://www.sba.gov/size. Comments on the rule are due January 26, 2021. See ¶70,425.691 for the text of the proposed rule.
