Professor William Byrnes is a member of the law faculty and an Associate Dean of Texas A & M University's law school. He previously obtained the title of tenured law professor in 2005 at St. Thomas University School of Law and in 2008.

William Byrnes is one of the leading authors in the professional trade market with 30 books that have sold in excess of 150,000 copies in print and thousands of online database subscribers. He is the primary author of the 10-volume Kluwer treatise International Trust, Company and Wealth Management, Laws and Analysis, and is also a regular contributor to the Kluwer International Tax Blog.

William Byrnes held a senior position of international tax for Coopers & Lybrand and has been commissioned and consulted by a number of governments on their tax and fiscal policy. He pioneered online legal education in 1994. In 1998 he developed the first online program to achieve American Bar Association acquiescence. He has founded an online Master of Wealth Management and of Risk Management at Texas A & M.
