Thomas Lee Hazen is the Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he has taught for more than thirty-five years. Before moving to North Carolina, Professor Hazen was a professor of law at the University of Nebraska; he previously was engaged in private practice with a major New York City law firm. Professor Hazen is a recognized expert and is widely published in the fields of securities, commodities, derivatives, and corporate law. Professor Hazen is author of a seven volume treatise on Securities Regulation and is the coauthor of multivolume treatises on broker dealer regulation under the securities and commodities laws, and a multivolume treatise on corporate law. Professor Hazen has also authored more than forty law review articles as well as casebooks on securities law, broker-dealer regulation; is a frequent lecturer for national continuing legal education programs; and has served as an expert witness on a number of occasions.
