Susan Smith is Editorial Lead in the Health Law team of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. She has been with the company since 1995. Susan is a lead editor for the Medicare and Medicaid Guide and the Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual and contributor to Health Reform WK-EDGE and Health Law Daily. Her content expertise includes health care compliance and fraud and abuse, and Medicare appeals, cost reports, and the prospective payment systems. Previously, she was the Coordinating Editor of the Health Care Compliance Portfolio, which includes the Journal of Health Care Compliance and Health Care Compliance Newsletter; lead editor for Corporate Governance for Health Care and Compliance: A Practical Guide and HIPAA Privacy and Security Guides; and contributing writer analyst for MediRegs’ ComplyTrack. Other publication credits include the Master Medicare Guide; Medicare Explained; Understanding Medicare book series; and CCH law, explanation, and analysis books. Susan graduated from Chicago Kent College of Law, and has a Master’s degree in psychology from the Adler Institute, graduate credits in speech pathology from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree in English/Speech from the University of California Los Angeles.
