Paul Altman is the chair of Richards, Layton & Finger’s Business Department and leads the firm’s Limited Liability Company and Partnership Advisory Group. His practice involves alternative entities, including partnerships and limited liability companies, and focuses primarily on the formation of private investment funds.
An active member of the state and national bar, Mr. Altman is a past chair of the Delaware State Bar Association’s Commercial Law Section and is an emeritus member and past chair of the bar committee responsible for drafting amendments to Delaware’s alternative entity laws. He has also served in leadership positions within the American Bar Association’s Committee on LLCs, Partnerships, and Unincorporated Entities. He currently serves on this committee’s editorial board and is one of the committee’s representatives on the Uniform Law Commission’s Joint Editorial Board for alternative entities.
Mr. Altman is co-author of Lubaroff & Altman on Delaware Limited Partnerships, and often lectures on the subject of limited partnerships and limited liability companies. He has been recognized for excellence in many leading legal guides, including Chambers USA, Who’s Who of Private Funds Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America, which has named Mr. Altman the 2017 Delaware Business Organizations Lawyer of the Year.
