Gail Weinstein acted as lead legal counsel on many of the seminal contested and negotiated transactions during the advent of M&A. With over 30 years of M&A-related experience, Ms. Weinstein has been at the forefront of market-shaping transactions. She was a partner in Fried Frank’s Corporate Department for almost two decades, and returned to the firm several years ago as a Senior Counsel. Ms. Weinstein provides a leading role in counseling many of the world's largest companies, private equity firms and investment banks on their most critical challenges in corporate strategy, defense preparedness, shareholder activism and corporate governance. In addition to her decades of practical experience, Ms. Weinstein is a well-known thought leader in the industry. She is a co-author of Takeover Defense, Mergers and Acquisitions (Wolters Kluwer/Aspen 7th edition, 2016). She is also the primary author of numerous articles and white papers on M&A-related subjects, providing insight for clients, peers, business and legal media, and the broader legal community.
