For over 25 years, Chrys D. Lemon has specialized in counseling bank-owned and bank-affiliated insurance agencies, insurance companies, insurance professionals, insurance trade organizations, and consumer financial services providers on a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues. 

Mr. Lemon understands the nuances of state insurance regulation, especially when sales footprints cover multiple states. He devotes significant time advising clients on issues related to the sale and marketing of insurance (admitted and surplus lines) and debt protection products, compensation arrangements, market conduct, financial privacy, cybersecurity, licensing, unfair and deceptive acts and practices, insurance sales to the military, and compliance management systems. 

He routinely represents clients before the National Association of Insurance Commissioners on policy issues concerning licensing of various insurance professionals, risk management, health savings accounts, insurance and annuity suitability, reinsurance, surplus lines insurance, and captive insurance companies, and risk retention groups. 

Mr. Lemon was Chairman of the Subcommittee on Insurance and Debt Protection Services of the American Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee. Before practicing law, he was a pilot in the United States Air Force, instructing student pilots in the T-38 jet trainer, and worked as an analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
