Christopher J. Robinette is Professor of Law at Widener University Commonwealth Law School where he has taught since 2005. Prior to joining the academy, Mr. Robinette practiced law at Tremblay & Smith, LLP in Charlottesville, Virginia, where his practice focused on tort and commercial litigation.
Mr. Robinette writes in the areas of tort law and theory. In 2012, he was elected to the American Law Institute. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Tort Law, and serves as a contributor to the European Group on Tort Law. He is an editor of leading treatises in both tort (Harper, James & Gray on Torts) and insurance law (New Appleman on Insurance Law Library Edition). Mr. Robinette serves as Chair of the Executive Committee of the AALS Torts & Compensation Systems Section and a member of the New Appleman on Insurance Advisory Board. Additionally, he is the editor of TortsProf Blog. He has won awards for both scholarship and teaching.
